CraftEdit Addon: Tutorial Documentation

Welcome to the CraftEdit Mod tutorial documentation! This guide will walk you through the various tools and features of the mod, empowering you to build, design, and reshape your Minecraft world with unparalleled precision and efficiency.


CraftEdit provides a suite of tools, each with unique functionalities:

  1. Select Tool: Select specific regions in your world for modification.
  2. Drawing Tool: Create intricate designs, from basic lines and shapes to complex overlays and gradients.
  3. Brush Tool: Design custom brushes with various shapes and patterns to paint your world with unique textures and block combinations.

  5. Move Tool: Effortlessly move, clone, and extrude structures, making large-scale modifications a breeze.
  6. Set Tool: Fill, delete, generate, and replace blocks within selections, offering precise control over your building projects.
  7. Advanced Tools: Explore advanced features like block state manipulation, filters, macros, and undo/redo functionality for even greater control.

Tutorials

Each tool comes with its own set of tutorials and documentation, accessible in-game through the mod interface. These tutorials provide step-by-step instructions and tips, allowing you to quickly grasp the intricacies of each tool.

Select Tool

  • Basic Selection:

    1. Equip the Select tool (/give @s ttce:select).
    2. Break a block to set Position 1 (Pos1).
    3. Break another block to set Position 2 (Pos2), completing your selection.
    4. Modify the selection by breaking more blocks to update Pos2 or use the tool's menu to fine-tune.
    5. Blue particles outline your selection, with distinct particles for Pos1 and Pos2.
    6. Clear the selection using the 'Clear Selection' option in the tool's menu.
  • Smart Selection:

    1. Enable Smart Selection in the Select tool's menu ('Change to Smart Selection').
    2. Break a block to select similar blocks, expanding the selection to connected blocks.
    3. Configure Smart Selection settings (max size, radius, shape, mode) in the menu.
    4. Choose from various selection types: Block Type, Block State, Block Rotation, Block Property, Block Color, Block Hardness.
    5. Modify the selection using 'Expand/Contract Selection' in the menu.

Drawing Tool

  • Basic Drawing:

    1. Equip the Drawing tool (/give @s ttce:drawing).
    2. Open the Drawing Actions menu.
    3. Select a drawing action (Replace, Draw, Smooth, etc.).
    4. Choose a brush or create a new one.
    5. Follow the prompts to apply your drawing.
  • Advanced Drawing:

    1. Use Overlay to apply patterns over existing terrain (Normal, Perlin Noise, Voronoi, etc.).
    2. Create custom shapes by combining basic shapes and use Line Drawing for precise control.
    3. Design gradients for smooth color transitions using multi-block brushes.
  • Text Tool:

    1. Select 'TEXT TOOL' from the Drawing menu.
    2. Enter your text and choose font size/style.
    3. Select a brush for the text material.
    4. Choose placement method (Manual or Live).
    5. Use the Drawing tool to confirm placement.
    6. Experiment with different styles (Horizontal, Vertical, Diagonal, Circular, Wavy) and sizes (Small, Medium, Large).

Brush Tool

  • Brush Basics:

    1. Equip the Brush tool (/give @s ttce:brush).
    2. Open the Brush Menu.
    3. Select 'SHAPE' to choose a brush shape (sphere, cylinder, pyramid, etc.).
    4. Break a block to set the center of your brush.
    5. Use the brush again to apply the shape and confirm the action in the menu.
    6. Adjust brush size and other options in 'BRUSH SETTING'.
    7. Toggle 'Override Existing Blocks' to control block replacement.
  • Shapes and Patterns:

    1. Explore various shapes: Sphere, Hollow Sphere, Cylinder, Pyramid, Disc, Square, Torus, Star, Wave, Arch, Capsule, Dome, Ring, Cube, Helix, Spiral, Donut, Heart.
    2. Experiment with patterns: Random, Checkerboard, Stripes, Gradient, Weave, Diamond, Hexagonal, Brick, Cellular Automata, Wave, Spiral, Fractal, Radial, Voronoi.
    3. Create a brush with multiple block types and choose a pattern when creating the brush to determine how blocks are arranged.
  • Brush Management:

    1. Select 'MANAGE BRUSH' in the main menu.
    2. Choose 'CREATE BRUSH' and select block types.
    3. Name and save your brush.
    4. Use 'SAVE BRUSH' to store your current brush with a custom note.
    5. Select 'LOAD BRUSH' to use a saved brush from your list.
    6. Use 'DELETE BRUSH' to remove unwanted brushes.

    Set Tool

      4. Choose from various set operations (Set, Delete, Generate, Replace).

      3. Select the generation method (Brush or number of blocks).
      4. Break blocks to select types for generation.

    • Replace Operation:

      1. Make a selection.
      2. Choose 'REPLACE' from the main menu.
      3. Select the replacement method (Brush or number of replacement blocks).
      4. Choose blocks, with the first being the one to be replaced and the following as potential replacements.
      5. Set percentages and pattern for replacement blocks.
      6. Confirm and replace the specified blocks in the selection.

    Advanced Features

    • Block State Manipulation:

      1. Select an area with the Advanced Edit tool (/give @s ttce:rotate).
      2. Open the Advanced Edit menu.
      3. Choose 'MANIPULATE BLOCK STATES'.
      4. Select the desired operation (Rotate 90° CW/CCW, Rotate 180°, Flip Horizontally/Vertically, Mirror X/Y/Z).
    • Filters:

      1. Open the Advanced Edit menu.
      2. Select 'BLOCK FILTER'.
      3. Choose 'Add Filter'.
      4. Interact with a block to add it to the filter.
      5. Manage filters by viewing, removing, or clearing all filters.
    • Macros:

      1. Select 'MACRO OPERATIONS' from the main menu.
      2. Start recording a macro.
      3. Perform your desired transformations.
      4. Stop recording and save your macro.
      5. Load a saved macro, choose how many times to repeat it, and execute it on your current selection.
    • Undo and Redo:

      1. Select 'UNDO' from the main menu to reverse your last action.
